Sherman Circle Information and Updates

We are aware that many of our community members are concerned about the return of ‘Sherman' to the circle of our community. The granite has been purchased and delivered. The color match is perfect and the 10,000 pound block of granite for the actual statue is currently in the very capable hands of Nicolas Fairplay and carving is underway. While the township is in the process of evaluating contracts for the repair of the site we are still very much aware that the community is missing our War Memorial. The goal is to be sure that we have a quality result that reflects the high standards our community expects and deserves. Items that are being addressed are the replacement of the underground sprinkler system, the total replacement of the electricity from the clock tower to the circle, selection of the landscape items, and replacement of the concrete and lighting elements. We also will be replacing the flag pole. All of these items are being reviewed for quality and selection. Since we are a government entity, these all must be sent out for bids and then reviewed by our legal counsel. Demolition of the circle is underway and reconstruction will begin in the Spring. Please consider a quick review of the photos that are shown here to see the progress on our renovation/reconstruction of our circle. As always you are welcome to attend our township meetings to ask questions and discuss the updates.
